Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Instruction Dignitas Personae on Certain Bioethical Questions. Vatican City: Libreria Editrice Vaticana, 2008. This text has the standard numbered paragraph structure of (nearly) all Vatican documents. However, while FL normally builds these as milestone, in this document it has not.

Look, I'm simply trying to build a cross-reference between Denzinger and the original documents so that there won't be pressure on FL to do so. Basically, I'm convinced that significant manual intervention is required to get it right. I'm trying to help and it feels like I hit a brick wall any direction I turn.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I've chatted with Craig (and Lou) about this in the past and I'm trying to figure out a way to make it less painful on our end to create new data types. This is especially true for documents like this.

Yes, I've been aware for some time that this is the root problem and that for years on Evangelical resources it was not a problem. Unfortunately, the church fathers, councils and official documents make it a serious problem. You do have my sympathy as "the guy caught in the middle".

There is one solution that is less than ideal but would at least be understandable. For recent documents has anyone looked into using the AAS number as the basis for a datatype?  See Acta Apostolicae Sedis - Wikipedia for a description. This would be like tying everything to a Congressional Journal. As the AAS is available online, it would be practical for people to keep a cross-reference of document name/AAS # for those things they use regularly ... in fact, scholars would likely learn their most relevant AAS numbers simply by use.

I just did a scan 379 resources currently have AAS references.
