I grew up up on Windows. About 8 years ago, I started using Mac Mini and MacBook Pro and I'm impressed by the UI and particularly the large TrackPad.
Right around 5 years ago, I bought my first Logos and used it on my Mac Mini and laptop. Things were OK but not great in terms of speed. Then, when I upgraded from Logos 7 to Logos 8 on my 5 year Mac Min (without SSD), I started to feel like I'm working with a turtle and I spent most my time waiting when I typed in a passage. Every hover over a word costs me minutes to retrieve the pieces from BDAG and what naught.
Just yesterday, I bought a a cheap Dell Inspiron desktop that has an Intel I5 9400 (6 cores) CPU and SSD and regular HD for $550. The first thing I did was I installed Logos 8; and, lo and behold, it flew like a F22 Raptor. I have never seen Logos returning in under 3 seconds when I typed in a passage lookup. That was absolutely astounding performance.
But, but, but, I miss the Apple TrackPad and the UI. I'm thinking about an upgrade to a beefy Mac Mini, possibly with a 6 core Intel I7. But it is going to cost $1700 and above vs a $550 Windows machine.
