Bug: Remove Passage Guide results

In 4.0d beta 4, not sure if the problem occurs earlier. Happening in a custom passage guide, not sure if it would happen in a built-in guide.

Run a custom guide on a passage; refresh the Commentaries section (might happen with others, dunno); try to remove (x out) a listed commentary after refresh completes. The commentary results cannot be removed at that point.

Confirmed. It is also true with the standard passage guide.

That happens in 4.0c as well. Not sure what the logic is, though. I mean you delete a commentary for one passage and it re-appears for another! So when do you need to Refresh?

I removed a commentary I didn't mean to remove. Refreshed it to get it back, then couldn't remove the ones I wanted gone.

Sorry, Chris. I was trying to state my own ignorance of the (if any?) logic behind what you have described with Refresh. So I'll agree it is a bug, because you have to generate another PG and return to the original passage in order to remove any resource!

What I have noticed (Beta 4) after removing Matthew Henry (below) it returned after I clicked on more ...

So I removed it from the expanded list, generated another PG in the same tab, returned to this one and guess what? Yup, Matthew Henry was back again! So that's another bug (or two).

I expect a removed resource to stay that way until I Refresh or restart L4, but Refresh shouldn't prevent me removing resources afterward.

One issue here is something that has been discussed before. The passage guide will not remember any changes made unless you name the guide, and even then it only remembers the guide as it is when named. Make more changes after naming a guide, and those changes are lost.

I imagine Logos did this to correct an earlier problem where many changes resulted in a new copy of the same guide, quickly cluttering things. But now we're overkill in the other direction. I know a report has been made on this before, but it stands to say again: I want passage guides, particularly my custom guides, to remember changes I made when removing or starring a resource or adding notes. It makes no sense to have these tools in the guide but no reasonable way of saving the changes.

But all of that is unrelated to the original error.
