The 4th blip on the local earthquake record is NOT a 4th goal by the champion Seattle Sounders soccer team, it is my shout of AARGH in pain upon finding an almost useful feature that would take so little to make fully useful.
Open these two resources:
- Brooke, Alan England. A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Johannine Epistles. International Critical Commentary. New York: C. Scribner’s Sons, 1912.
- Brooke, Alan England. Fleury Palimpsest of 1 John from a Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Johannine Epistles. New York: C. Scribner’s Sons, 1912.
Note that the second is one of several excerpts from the first created so that the compare text functions of Verbum are useable.
[quote]This fragment was originally in the same book as the ICC volume on the Epistles of John, but for greater functionality this fragment was made into a separate resource. This approach allows one to use the automated reports in Logos Bible Software to compare these fragments with other Latin texts of 1 John.
Alan England Brooke, Fleury Palimpsest of 1 John from a Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Johannine Epistles (New York: C. Scribner’s Sons, 1912).
However, when one compares the two transcriptions side by side they are not identical, especially on information shown by typographic differences.

I suggest two things:
- That the Logos supplied paragraph mention the differences in format.
- That there be a link to the original text in the secondary text.
