I just got a new computer. It appears I have a few less books (around 20 less) than I did on my old machine. Any ideas why?
Personal books perhaps?
That was my thought, but they seem to be there.
temporary licenses?
Some resources from old CD products can not be downloaded automatically, but must be manually scanned from the install CDs. https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Commands#Scan
If you have access to the old machine, you might be able to scan the resource folder of the old installation in order to find the missing files.
I still have my old CD's. However, would it work if I just kept a backup copy of all my resources?
Sorry, I guess I should have explained more. I'm not trying to install Logos on another computer right now, I'm just thinking about what I will need to do down the road.
Right, that's what Andrew was referring to in his post:

If you keep regular backups of your computer, you'd be okay.
I don't know that I have the CDs but I do have access to the old computer. What do you mean scan the resource folder?
If you have access to the old computer (or have archived the resource files), then you don't need the CDs. This wiki page might help:

I tried this but it didn't help. Called tech support and they fixed me up. Life is good.

I would be interested in finding out what they did.
The scan command is executed on the new computer, using the GO/Command box e.g. scan E:\Resources, where the old Resources folder was moved to a removable drive E:\. (in Windows). It will ensure that any missing resources are put onto the new computer.
The wiki quoted by Andrew will tell you the location of the Resources folder.
