'System Narrator' in Logos 8
Changing the narrator in Windows 10 doesn't change it at all, and Windows David is terrible. In truth, all of the Microsoft voices are basically bad. But Logos won't even recognize any buy Microsoft David. Is there any way to install a better TTS voice and force Logos to use a different one?

Ironically Cereproc's Irish voice is what I had in mind. I don't have the resources right now to pruchase a voice.

I found these but Windows doesn't recognize them.

Those look like voice files for particular scientific software speech engines, unfortunately not for the one Windows uses. With Cereproc they supply their own voice files and engine. As good as Cereproc voices are (in comparison to the ones with Windows), they understandably still struggle to sound 'human', especially with certain formatting and the obvious Greek and Hebrew.

A close friend of mine decided to dump some cash on me so the narrator thing Is liklely taken care of. Really busy right now. going for Cereproc. I have some minor brain damage which can make study a little difficult (but i can still do it without bnoth the text and sound) and its nice to have the audio for better retention.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the new voice and it'll aid you in your retention. If you have any problems getting it working post back here and I'll see if I can help [Y]

Anyone able to tell me which reg key configures this? I need to do it in the registry instead.

Dave, how do you like the voices from cereproc? So they work well with logos? You have a favorite? How much of an improvement are they over the standard system narrator?

John, a quick look at my setup suggests the following values are the ones that change (in this case setup with Microsoft's own Hazel voice). Obviously though, be careful and make a backup before directly changing registry values.
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Narrator\NoRoamName: SpeechVoice Type: REG_SZ Data: Microsoft Hazel DesktopComputer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Speech\VoicesName: DefaultTokenId Type: REG_SZ Data: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speech\Voices\Tokens\TTS_MS_EN-GB_HAZEL_11.00 -
here is how I did it. It works and using Logos 9.

I also enabled these that Josh linked to, Microsoft Eva Mobile (Cortana) and Microsoft Mark Mobile are much better (higher quality) TTS voices.

Eva is definitely clearer, maybe not so much Mark.
You have to configure them in Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Speech Recognition -> Advanced Speech Options then under the Text to Speech tab.
