I just ordered this eInk tablet from Amazon. Wondered if anyone had experience using it yet with logos and in general
I got it!
I was always hesitant to get the previous E-Ink tablets as they ran such and old Android platform. But with the breakthrough with Android 9.0 (the latest version) and having an octacore processor and large memory, I jumped! I'm glad I did.
I love it. It very responsive and works great! I can tether it to my phone data then use it basically wherever. Now I can do sermon prep reading outside with Logos, along with any other Android Google Play app!
It wasn't cheap, but I consider it a great tool for my trade as a pastor.
Hello brothers.
Please. Can give you more details of the experience with Onyx Boox Note2.
Open Logos Mobile? It works perfectly? What about reading pdfs, what is the experience like?
Sorry for bothering. I live in Brazil. I'm researching onyx, but still undecided, because we don't have it in Brazil and I need to pay customs fees, 60% more.
It does open fine and works. I can't say "perfectly" because it NEVER works "perfectly" on any Android tablet I've ever used.
PDF reading is a real strength of this device. You can put a PDF on the tablet and open it in the built-in reading app and mark it up with the stylus.
It is expensive and you'll have to decide if its worth the price. I like and and will use it for reading books in Logos. I won't use it for more advanced Bible study because I don't use it that much for advanced Bible study on my phone.
I have the Note 2
I love it. I use it for Kindle and Logos, but I also like that it can have other apps on it like Word, my Onedrive, and especially my Todoist (to do app) so that when I get ideas I can write them down easily.
Because some things are color sensitive in some apps, I have adjusted a few ways I do things (exp. I do not highlight in yellow as it doesn't show up, but I use green highlighting or underlining...) There are also some display settings that need to be adjusted for some apps to adjust for color variants to show up. It's not all perfect, but it's been a great answer for me!
A reason I could think of wanting a bigger screen, is especially if you do use it for preaching (I'm more a a paper guy when it comes to sermon notes...) but it would allow you so see much more and you could navigate around your documents better with a bigger screen.
But you're right! It is fairly expensive! But I've found it to be a great investment. The processor speed is also really nice for an eink tablet!
The only catch is - color is coming out soon on e-ink tablets. But I think the price is going to be pretty high!
Thank your reply!
Hadn't thought about yellow highlightning not showing
Do you use it with a keyboard?
Does it feel big for reading books - or do you prefer the big screen for everything?
I have the Onyx Nova 2 and love it! I think you’ll very much enjoy the Note!
I wonder how Logos would look and feel on an Onyx Boox Max 3. Anyone?
Got hold of a used Note2, was sent wih the post today so will probably get it early next week. Looking forward to try it out!
I don't use it for preaching because on occasion when I'm preaching I need to zoom back up to the top or down to the bottom of my 2-4 pages of notes to see something. The Note2 doesn't respond fast enough.
Great for handwriting. I actually use a paper Bible and the Note2 to take notes for devotional reading. I've also been using my phone (Logos app) and the note taking app for some study lately because I sold my iPad Pro.
Anything further? Seriously considering a Book Note 3. TIA
