Whilst certain functions like tagging are associated with clippings, Highlighting is not. You can attach your own Notes to a clipping, but you can't highlight it. If you like, a Clipping is essentially a Highlight; to which you can add Notes and Tags. And you can Search for the text as well as the
    Tags.

What I have done to make text stand out in Clippings is to format it. Text can be made bold, underlined and italicized and the font and font size can be changed.

I believe I read somewhere in the forums that FaithLife's plan is to in the future consolidate clippings into Notes. I'm not sure if or when that will happen, but if it does, the Notes Tool does allow for a basic form of highlighting. However,  the highlighting found in the Notes Tool is not the same as using the Highlighting Tool Palette.

It depends on exactly what your purpose is. You can't use Logos Highlighting Features, but if you only want the visual effect and want to preserve it for future reference, then yes, make use of this hack:

Copy the Clipping to Word, format it and paste it back into Clippings
