It has been reported Larry Hurtado has passed into glory. Pray for his family at this time.
Many may well have one or more of his books on early Christianity in their library.

Thanks for sharing the news.
Larry certainly was an influence on me. Will miss his blog and scholarship.
Thanks for sharing that sad news. Larry's first academic post was at Regent College, my graduate alma mater. I didn't start there until nearly 20 years after he'd left, so I never got to study under him, nor have I read any of his books. But I do own several of them in Logos, and I know he's had a great influence on many.
I've passed the word along to the Regent alumni community on Facebook, as some from the 70s will remember him.
Both Mike Kruger and the ETC blog have very nice tributes to Dr. Hurtado. (Links in the names.)
A festschrift to Dr. Hurtado is here (paper) and here (Logos). And here is the page of his works in Logos for those interested.
R.I.P. Mr. Hurtado!
At least he knew it was coming and he was getting ready for it. Prayers for his family and close friends!

I had the opportunity to hear him speak on only one occasion and he signed a copy of the book below for me. I would highly recommend it.

I already have most of his books that are available in Logos, but it would be nice of Logos highlighted his books with a sale.
I also had the chance to hear him speak once and had a brief conversation with him. He was a very kind, patient person.
