Logos 8 Atlas bug: "pulse" and recenter doesn't work when switching maps

It took me a long time to track down what I think is happening. It seems that if the Atlas has a map selected on the left and the search term you enter is not on the current map, the Logos 8 Atlas:

  • Finds a relevant map and loads it (good!)
  • But it does not recenter the map on that search term or pulse to show you its location (bad)

The only workaround appears to be to find a location in the newly loaded map, search for that, then reenter your original desired search term. Note: this is a particularly vexing bug if you keep the Atlas open and as part of your daily reading you're bouncing back and forth between the OT and NT (and are looking up locations in both). See below for instructions on how to reproduce the bug.

Instructions on how to reproduce this bug:

  • Open Atlas
  • By default Biblical Word - Life of Jesus is the highlighted map (at least for me)
  • Type in "Emmaus" in the Filter Maps search bar
  • Click on the Emmaus Village entry that appears below
  • Map zooms, pulses on possible location (good!)
  • Type in "Bethpage" in the search bar
  • Click on Bethpage Village
  • Map zooms, pulses on location (good!)
  • Type in "Zoar" in the search bar
  • Click on Zoar City
  • Map selected on the left changes to Biblical World - Patriarchal Period, labels on map change, but no recentering or pulsing (bad)
  • Type in "Gerar" in the search bar
  • Click on Gerar Town
  • Map zooms, pulses on location (good!)
  • Type in "Zoar" in the search bar
  • Click on Zoar City
  • Map zooms, pulses on location (good! Worked since in the same map.)
  • Type in "Bethpage" in the search bar (second time)
  • Click on Bethpage Village
  • Map selected on the left changes to Biblical World - Life of Jesus, but no recentering or pulsing (bad!)
  • Type in "Emmaus" in the Filter Maps search bar
  • Click on the Emmaus Village entry that appears below
  • Map zooms, pulses on possible location (good! Works since it's in the Life of Jesus map)
  • Type in "Bethpage" in the search bar
  • Click on Bethpage Village
  • Map zooms, pulses on location (good! Works since it's in the Life of Jesus map)

Desired fix:

  • Always recenter the map and pulse the destination

Any way this can be fixed? I love being able to better understand all these locations visually, but this workaround is really painful. Thanks for listening!
