I'm actually researching what is required to bring the Canon Comparison up to the content in The Biblical Canon Lists from Early Christianity: Texts and Analysis by Edmon L. Gallagher and John D. Meade, the de facto standard for the early centuries. But in so doing, I found these additional errors in the current interactive:

  • "Syriac Bible" should be Syriac Orthodox Bible - a tradition not an edition/manuscript. Note the link name implies this was originally correctly identified. First "Syriac Bible" is normally called the Peshitta and second, the Peshitta has two main forms - eastern and western
  • The Targums do not reflect a tradition/church/sect but should be under editions/manuscripts
  • Similiarly the Peshitta New Testament should be under editions/manuscripts (although to include the Harclean canon there might be additional modifications)
  • The Cilicia Bible should be edition/manuscript
  • The Leiden Peshitta should be edition/manuscript

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
