Searching within all of a specific author's works

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there is a good way to search for every time a specific author discusses a topic or a verse? I am specifically wanting to see what Augustine has to say about Luke 24:44. I've tried the following without much luck:

author:Augustine <Luke 24:27>  (No results)

author:("Augustine" OR "Augustine of Hippo") <Luke 24:44>  (A ton of irrelevant results)

{Label Intertext WHERE Author ~ "Augustine" AND source ~ <Luke 24:44>} (No results)

I understand that not all resources support search fields
"Of course, not all fields are available on every resource, and most resources just support the surface and footnote fields. You can check which fields are supported for a particular resource by looking in the resource’s Information panel."

So what is the best way to do this? I saw some made a collection and searched within that, but collections are a little less dynamic than what I'm looking for. Yes, I could easily make a collection of all the books by Augustine I have, but what if he is quoted by another author, say, Calvin discussing Augustine's words in his commentary entry on Luke 24:44?

Thank you in advance for any and all help. I'm still getting used to advance search features.

Soli Deo Gloria

Open up your library and get your works by August highlighted, or any other resources you'd like in the list.  Right click, then "Search these resources."

If this will be a search you want often, create a collection with the books you wanted.  You could try  author:"Augustine" in the collection.  Then a basic search, using that collection.

I should have read your OP more closely!  Maybe you could create a collection of resources that don't include Augustine and then begin to search through that?

This is close, but author: is part of a Resource search and is not a Search field (used when searching the text of a resource) i.e.

Many results are in footnotes, but seem relevant to your need.

If want to search for Augustine being quoted, then search All Resources for something like

      Augustine NEAR <Lk 24:44>

You can search for the non-biblical person <Biography Augustine of Hippo>, but it is not extensively tagged and "Augustine" is the better term to use as above.
