Searching for Intertextual Quotations
I want to find places where there are quotations of a particular Old Testament passage in the New Testament.
I searched on the Intertext label as follows:
{Label Intertext WHERE Relationship="Quotation"}
When I do this, Logos highlights biblical passages that are quoted by the Church Fathers, Josephus, Jewish Pseudepigrapha, etc. I don't want places where a verse is quoted. I only want to find passages that do the quoting of other passages.
For example, I don't want Genesis 2:24 to be highlighted in my search as a source that is quoted in various places. But I do want Matthew 19:5 to be highlighted because it quotes Genesis 2:24.
How can I limit searches and Visual Filters that use the Intertext label to only work with the places that make an intertextual quotation and not include the earlier texts that are quoted?

Hi Harry.
You can narrow it down by using "Corpus": {Label Intertext WHERE Corpus="New Testament" AND Relationship="Quotation"}
(the quotes should be straight/dumb quotes, making a note in case the display tries to be "smart")
EDIT: This will locate the source of the quotation (in the OT) and the target (in the NT). If you only want the target, then just search the NT (narrow range from "whole Bible")

This is helpful, Rick.
Is there any way to get Logos to only highlight the OT quotation and not the whole verse?

Maybe, but you would need a standard OT text e.g. LHB and then have to 'translate' it for use in English (or non-original language) bibles. This would restrict usage to Reverse interlinear bibles with Hebrew OT. But the highlighting would have to be inclusive when multiple parts of the verse are quoted in the NT e.g. Is 9:10 in Mk 4:12 & Jn 12:40.
Using verses allows the search to be conducted in any Bible.

Hi Harry.
The data is at the verse level, not the word level.
