A Parent's Guide to Teenage Bullying crashes Logos...
Howdy,
I just downloaded the newly free book "A Parent's Guide to Teenage Bullying," and when I try to open the book, or click on it, rather than open the book, Logos crashes.
I tried "remove from this device," and then re-downloading it. The same problem occurs.
I see the same thing has happened with "A Parent's Guide to New Year's Resolutions." Perhaps there is a common flaw in these volumes? Thanks.

Every book in the Axis series has caused this issue in Logos. They should fix the whole series instead of one at a time.

Thank you both so very much!
I read in a related post that a previous version of "A Parent's Guide to..." did the same thing. I guess that's what Kenneth meant when he said "the Axis series."
In that post, one of the responses was that this issue would be resolved with the release of version 8.11.
So I'm thinking that this one will be also.
Again, I really appreciate both of you commenting.

Please accept our apologies.
We have been working on a fix for all volumes in this series. It will ship with the next update to Logos.

Regarding Paul L. White posting, I have the same problem except that I can no longer use Logos for it starts, bring a blank screen and then crashes immediately. It all started when I downloaded this new free book "a Parent's Guide to Teenage Bullying". What to do? ... Hope this will be fixed soon ...

Did you already download and open it? Or do you mean to say, it just started once you tried to download it but haven't opened it yet?
Try loading to a blank layout. If that doesn't work, please create a new thread and post logs.

I assume this crash was fixed in v8.11? Or is the fix you were referring to the formatting problems?
I can access and open the bullying guide on my desktop but the current formatting makes the content hard to decipher and practically unreadable. It seems that the content may originally be graphic-heavy and did not translate well to this reader format. This has been a poor formatting issue for others (and I would assume all?) the parent guides. If it's the problem from the publisher and not fixable, it might just be good to stop selling them.
Faithlife eBookstore was linked in a David Cook email detailing this guide was free to download into Logos and that's where I was notified about it.

I have to echo what Richard Villanueva stated.
To be specific, the column will not word wrap, and you have to scroll right to read a line, scroll back left to read the next line, and on and on it goes.
I tried changing the number of columns, but that didn't fix it.
Richard seems far more technically knowledgeable than I, and his idea that the page is an image, rather than text, is pretty reasonable. I suppose this came from a PDF file, instead of a text one? Where the PDF was in image format?
At any rate, it's something that is far inferior to the normal Logos experience. And, if it is truly an image file, then how can the words be indexed? How can these books show up in any search queries?
Much empathy to Faithlife as you tackle this issue.

Please accept our apologies, these resources no longer crash Logos, but still need further work to improve the formatting.
We do already have a case for this problem, and will be fixing it in due course.

Thanks for the reply! Glad to hear things are on track for improvement. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

Thank you, Mr. McCune. As always, you're able to "come through," and bring about resolution to the various challenges that occur in this mammoth project of creating the libraries of enormous size that we enjoy.
