Linking maps with text
Does anyone know of a way to link some map to Bible text so that when the text mentions a place, the map shows where it is?
I asked Logos and they said to try the forum.

Hi John, welcome to the forums!
One sort of solution I have is to right click the place, choose the place from the left part of the menu, then choose Atlas. If the place is then not displayed, try clicking on the 'Fit' button in the atlas, and more often than not it will zoom into the place you are looking for.
Sometimes you will have to select one of the events that then list in the atlas if the above does not work. It is not perfect but it helps frequently to find a place. The only similar option I am aware of is to enable the Maps Visual Filter in you bible as in first image below, and then in your bible click on the link as in second image below, which will open the atlas to that 'Event' which may have the place on there.
Instead of clicking on the link, you can set the atlas and the bible to the same link set, but your milage may vary as to how useful this is, as it links with events rather than places.
Hopefully someone else has a more precise way to meet what you are asking. I too would love this to happen.

Thank you for that. I'm afraid that this old retired preacher hasn't upgraded to the full version 8 so I don't have the Atlas tool. Maybe this will inspire me to break down and spend the money! Thanks.

I'm with you both - would love to see this happen, or some traction in making the maps tie in more formally with the text for us more "visual" readers.....
