Tabs closing

I have recently upgraded to Logos 8 and have generally found it okay. However, I do have a problem with tabs closing. I usually have a number of Bibles open so I can go between versions but annoyingly the KJV keeps closing (its the first tab). It is annoying because they are linked so the same passage is open in each version. Consequently I have to reinstate that each time. Then today when i was checking a number of search tabs i have open, one of them just closed just like the KJV tab. Is this a bug in Logos 8? I did not have this sort of problem in Logos 7.

I have not read of any bugs where tabs (the first one or otherwise) randomly close. It is likely that you are doing something inadvertent which is causing the tab to close. Do you primarily use the keyboard or mouse?

I have not experienced this problem and do not recall seeing any bugs like this reported elsewhere.

I suspect that you are inadvertently closing these tabs when clicking between them. This can be easy to do when you start having a numbers of resources open.

If you regularly use several bibles, you could avoid the problem you describe by using the multi-resource view. This would also eliminate the need to link bibles.

Thank you both for your replies.

Whilst it is possible I am inadvertently closing tabs I don't think that is the answer. I have used Logos 7 for several years in the same way and never had this problem. In answer to JT, I use a mouse.

I would be interested in knowing how to use multi-resource view. It's not something I have come across but sounds as though it could be useful.

See the screenshot below. Once you have the Bibles you want selected, you can toggle the multi-resource view on and off. If you turn it off, then turn it back on, you last resource preferences will be displayed.

I do have a problem with tabs closing.

Depending upon your monitor resolution and the number of tabs you have open, instead of "closing" is it possible that the tabs are moving out of the pane, requiring you to click on the arrow icon circled in the pic below?

It is easy to inadvertently close a tab in Logos 8 because the Close icon (an X) is disguised until you hover over the tab. So, if you click on that seemingly blank spot, the tab will close.

Thanks David. A good thought but I haven't got that many tabs open so there isn't an arrow to click to bring back tabs that have gone off the end so to speak.

Thanks Dave. That is a possibility. I'll have to be careful in case that is what I've been doing!!

    Thanks Fred

I've set it up but it may take some getting used to as it is quite different to having tabs ready to click. But I will give it a go and see how I get on.
