Note "Date Created" confused with "Date Modified"
Notice in screenshot below, "Date Created" is selected. Below it states"25 min ago", which is when it was modified. However, as can be seen at the top of the note, it was actually created 12 years ago in 2008.
Selecting "Date Modified" resorts the list on the left, and still displays "25 min ago".
Is there some way to view the properties, or attributes, of the files to see the TRUE Creation Date?

That is selecting how you sort, not what is displayed at the bottom. The display at the bottom, to my knowledge, is always modified date.

Took me a bit to figure out what you meant by top and bottom. I now see that the "bottom" note icon appears to reflect the date which the note was modified, and that appears to be correct. And sorting by "Date Created" and "Date Modified reorder the notes correctly.
Here is another screenshot. As you can see, I have selected to sort by "Date Created". The date actually created, as you can see from the note text, was dated 2008JUN14, which was the date I "created" the note during a sermon. The sorted order is correct. Now that the note icon displays the "modified" date, which is also true.But, how may I now view the date of creation? (i.e. when the note file was originally started.)
In windows I can view the properties to see both of those dates in the metadata. Is there a way to view the actual creation date of the note file? Even if it is located elsewhere in the program?

AHA! I just discovered if the pointer hovers over the "note icon" time stamp in the sort column, both the creation date and the last modified date appear briefly. That is a relief!
However, is there a way to view the note file metadata to view the properties and / or attributes?

I'm not sure they can be exposed. I haven't looked it up in SQL, but when the new Notes tool was introduced, the information given was that individual notes now are no longer in notebook files, but in one big database. So I assume that "notebook" is just an entry in a table that serves to say those secondary keys called workbooks exist - they surely have an internal number (key) and a name, but I'm not sure if anyone thought creation date of that "notebook key" a worthy information (and if so, to preserve the creation dates of notebook files hat predated the new Notes tool, otherwise the converted notebooks all have the same day). After all in the new Notes, the notebook is just another field belonging to the note, which can be filled with a notebook key or (notebook name) from the table I just mentioned.
On the other hand, practically speaking, wouldn't the creation date of the oldest note in the notebook be good enough in most cases?

If the dates weren’t preserved and attached to the record, how could the “hover” note display the information?

Yes. If I could find out where to display it. And not just temporarily with a hover. I am attempting to organize the notes during the sermons of a particular speaker, during a particular timeframe. Hence the need to filter accordingly and group them together, by being able to see the creation dates, preferably NOT one hover at a time.
