I sure would like to have ADD NOTE default as REFERENCE instead of SELECTION on both the CPU version and the Mobile version. Anyone else have this desire as well? Any work around at this point?

On the desktop version, the app remembers what you selected with the pervious note. Once you select Reference, it will remain the default choice until you select something else. Can't speak for Mobile as I seldom take notes there.
