Yes, I know that what I am requesting requires significant effort to create - but it also has great promise for the user. Text Comparison is designed to work within a single language, so what I want is closer to a Text Parallels tools. What I want to do is:
- Enter Bible Versions - most likely the BHS, Targums, LXX, Peshitta, Vulgate with one marked as the one to be compared against.
- Show:
- differences in versification
- verses that are missing in the version
- verses that are moved to another location in the version
- verses that are added to the version
- similarly show clauses missing, moved or add
- if practical do the same at the phrase level
Do not show the differences in word order, spelling, punctuation, declension, et. al. that is related to the different languages of the versions being compared.
