Hello
I'm looking for all prayers in the gospels that are directed to Jesus.
What's the best way to find those instances?
Thanks in advance!
Andreas Holmberg
It would help if you provided an example.
Prayers directed to Jesus such as the prayer of a father in Mark 9:24: “I believe; help my unbelief!”.
Or as the prayer of the blind beggar in Luk 18:41: “Lord, let me recover my sight.”
Try experimenting with the "Speaking to God" interactive
Wonderful, Graham! That was just what I was looking for.
I wasn´t aware of the "Speaking to God" interactive. Excellent, thank you!

Select a word in your example text and then right-click.
Click on a Prayer category and select a Search from the other side of the menu.
You will find a different Prayer type in Mk 9:24
Because the addressee is Jesus, we need to restrict the search e.g.
{Addressee <Person Jesus>} INTERSECTS {Section <PreachingTheme = Prayer: Petition>}
{Addressee <Person Jesus>} INTERSECTS {Section <PreachingTheme = Prayer: Intercession>}
More info can be found in "Preaching Themes: Dataset Documentation" (if you own the dataset!).
Thank you very much, Dave! That's also very helpful.
Yes, I do have that dataset.
