Note text format and copying

I have previously been able copy and paste (ios) text within a note, and note to note, where the text formatting copies as expected. Now, suddenly, I only get the default formatting (i. e. bolding, italics, size, etc) in the destination or target text.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
