This is one of my favourite Christian books of all time. It Ihas just gone on pre-pub. I used to travel to hear Michael Eaton whenever he was preaching in the UK. He was mentored by Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

Thanks for the recommendation Paul. I am not familiar with this book, but will check it out!
Looks interesting, thanks.
Almost there.
Michael Eaton has also written commentaries on every book of the Bible. I contacted his son, as I was excited that "No Condemnation" was coming to Logos and he informed me, that we should also be able to purchase in the future an "omnibus" edition, combining all Michael Eaton's commentaries. There have been some posts recently about the "best" one volume commentaries. Once I available I'd strongly recommend the omnibus edition.
Michael studied under well-known Christian leaders such as J.I. Packer and J.A. Motyer. He also learnt a lot from Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones and Dr. R.T. Kendall, both past ministers of Westminster Chapel, London, where Michael was a member.
Although originally from England, he had a heart for Africa and pastored the well-known churches, Lusaka Baptist Church and Nairobi Baptist Church, as well as pioneering multiracial ministry in Johannesburg. From 1986 he was one of the leaders of the Chrisco Fellowship of Churches.
His commentaries are intended for an international readership and avoid an exclusively western style of presentation. Although on the surface written simply, there's deep scholarship behind them. He puts the theological and practical message of the Bible in a clear and down-to-earth way so that what is written can be easily understood by the reader.
I can't wait for his omnibus commentary to be made available too.

Let us know when the omnibus commentary makes it in!
Thanks for pointing this out Paul. For several years, I've worked at building my Logos library with a broad range of the recommended/highly rated commentary sets, along with background resource sets, theological, exegetical, and word study resources, as well as comparative resources (e.g. Five Views on such and such), etc. I've also invested in a number of mobile ed courses.
Now I'm becoming more selective/focused, wanting to add resources that zero in a specific topics/issues that are of particular importance to me. At this point I'm definitely not wanting any more fluff--only resources that individually, will truly add a focused value to my library. After seeing your post, I went to YouTube, and after watching an interview with Dr. Eaton, I placed my order.
Again, thanks for the heads up.
The progress line must be 99.5% of the way there. It's still yellow, but appears all the way across. Maybe one or two more orders will make it go green.
And no I'm not on commission.

Thanks for your interest Paul.
This book releases next Friday. (I want to say 29/5, but I know some of you will think there aren't 29 months in the year.) There's been some discussion recently in the forums about Tom Wright, so some of you may be interested that this book includes three chapters in which Eaton responds to the writings of Tom Wright on covenant and the "New Perspective".
So is Eaton Calvinist, Armenian or somewhere in between? The book says “He challenges both traditional Arminian and Calvinist views, in which salvation and good works are too tightly bound together, by drawing a clear distinction between salvation and reward.” Maybe a combination of the two?

So is Eaton Calvinist, Armenian or somewhere in between?
From the book: "The viewpoint I shall present differs from both, though it is more in accord with Augustinianism and Reformation-teaching than with Arminianism."

Thanks! I’ll look into it. Looks like a good read.

Hope you got in before the price went up.
Yes, Paul, I preordered it just in case. I’m not paying full price for it 👍😁👌

Great stuff. Michael Eaton was a very practical theologian, because he was a pastor too, with a heart for those often ignored. He created a mixed race church in South Africa during apartheid and then led a church in the slums in Kenya - all this despite being British. He died a couple of years ago. I would travel to hear him preach every August when he would return to the UK to preach at Westminster Chapel - made famous by Martyn Lloyd-Jones.
Thanks, Paul! I hope his commentary makes it to Logos as a One Volume instead of many volumes 👍😁👌

His sermons typically lasted an hour - but they only felt like 10 minutes. His commentaries are based on his sermons but obviously in brief covering the major points, so are excellent sermon outlines. He deliberately wrote his commentaries for pastors who may not speak English as their first language. I'm a trustee of the charity published his commentaries as individual volumes. We give them away free to pastors in poorer countries who haven't had any formal theological training.
What do you think of the Faithlife price at £30.78 where you can but the paperback at £18.00? Is this a mistake?
It is certainly expensive. I have the paperback, but I was still keen to have what I regard as an important book in my Logos library. Can't escape the fact at $40 it is now very expensive which is why I was trying to promote it while it was still in pre-pub.
Here's info on the New Testament volume.

His commentary is now in production - with quite a list of commendations.

Hi DAL
Yes volume 1 is the New Testament and volume 2 will be the OT. I've emailed someone to check on the editing progress on volume 2.
I managed to speak to Michael's son today. He's not sure when the publisher will have the Old Testament volume ready, but seemed to hope next year. Michael certainly wrote the material before he died a couple of years ago, so it's mainly a matter of editing.
