Notes and Highlighting
I am finding the notes to be really difficult to understand. I have read the instructions and watched a Video but still can't seem to master this.
I am studying Romans at the moment and I would like to highlight words. My problem is that when I use the NASB I can do the highlighting but it also highlights in my NIV as well. I want to just highlight using just one bible not have it sync with others. How do I stop it from doing that please? Every time I look up help it seems to lead me back to Notes and I just can't get it.
Thanks for any help

Hi Shirley - and welcome to the forums

This is happening due to something known as "Corresponding Highlighting" where highlights created in one translation are visible in another (assuming they are tagged with the underlying original language so the matching can occur)
You can see if this is happening by hovering over the highlight
To disable it, deselect that option from the resource visual filter menu
You can either turn this off completely or for specific notebooks (although I don't know if you have come across notebooks yet)
Hope this helps
If it still doesn't make sense please post back

Hi Graham
Thank you so much, that was really helpful. I now see how to stop this happening.
I've even improved on the Notes, I watched, while stopping and starting the Video tutorial about 100 times (haha) but I think I've at least got a bit better than I was. You're right I don't think I've come across Notebooks yet.
Thanks again, your help was much appreciated.
Many blessing

First, welcome to the forums!

You are not alone. The Notes tool went from something simple to use but without a lot of capabilities to something that is very capable but nearly impossible to understand (and thus use). I'm not sure which was worse.

This behavior is actually one of the most requested improvements to the Notes tool. Most users wanted the notes (or highlights) they took in one version to show up in their other versions.
I think Graham has answered your 'how-to' question. By turning off the corresponding notes, you can hide the cross-version notations, but they'll still be there if you ever decide you want to see them.
