I've recently purchased a new computer (running Windows 7) and upgraded from Word 2007 to Word 2010. The Copy Bible Verse task no longer provides an automatic Copy and Paste function. Is there a patch for this?

I just tried "Copy and Paste" using the "Copy Bible Verses" into MS Word 2010 - seemed to work with no problem. I am using Win 7 on a 4GB 64-bit machine. Not very helpful - but it does give another point of reference.

Are you using Logos 3 (Libronix) or Logos 4?
I'm using Logos 4. Previous to this new installation, the Logos 4 Copy Bible Verses showed both "copy" and "copy and paste" options. Now, only the "copy" option is provided. The "copy and paste" doesn't become active on any of the copy to formats.
Beta or Release Candidate?
If you're referring to Logos 4, I downloaded the program yesterday on to this computer. Would removing the program and starting over be a possible solution?
I seem to recall someone else having a similar problem a while back that was solved, but I can't remember what the solution was and I can't find that thread. All I've found are two other people who've reported the same problem here and here (in their cases it was happening with WordPerfect, but it's not a word processor specific problem, it seems).
Will hope one of the other MVPs has seen this before and knows how to fix it, or else it might require contacting Logos Tech Support.
I am running Logos4.0dRC1 with logging currently on.
In general Logos4 writes all kinds of stuff to the log for just about anything it does. Strangly, it writes NOTHING for a "Copy and Paste" from CBV to Word 2007!
(The Paste into Word 2007 worked correctly, but no log entries, so I'm sorry, I can't use it to give me some hints about what might be failing for Word 2010)
I have Win 7, Logos 4 and Word 2010 and have no problem at all using the feature. Both the Copy and the Copy and Paste buttons show in Logos as normal.
I notice in CBV that the "Copy and Paste" is highlighted or not, depending on which target you select. It seems that for at least some of these, it might be making some kind of checks to see if you have the product in question installed.
Consider running the "Repair" or "Diagnostics" feature in Word, in case something is a little messed up in whatever it is that Logos4 uses to activate Word for the Paste operation. I assume its using the Office Object Model to activate Word and interact with its Paste feature. If something is messed up with that, it would not be able to work. If Logos4 somehow knows there is an issue, or fails to detect that Word is installed, it would not enable the Paste feature.
The graphic below is for Word 2007. I expect Word 2010 with have the same or related concept in the same menu.
(P.S. for Rosie. If Logos4 is detecting the Object Model interface for a given product before it enables "Copy and Paste", then this might give a clue why this option does not seem to work for Word Perfect. If there is no Word Perfect interface Logos4 can use, then it would not offer the ability to paste.)
I'm sure there is a WordPerfect interface Logos can use or they wouldn't have put it on the dropdown menu of possible programs to export to. However your guess as to a possible reason the Word 2010 interface might not be working (if the installation got messed up somehow) might explain it for the WordPerfect case, too.

I'm not certain I understand how you're using that smiley: "No, I disagree with you."? "No comment."? "No! Zip it!"?
Anyway, I suppose Logos could have been mistaken in putting it on the menu, so I didn't intend to make an authoritative statement; you might be right if you're disagreeing with me. When I said "I'm sure" it was just a manner of speaking.
Sorry, on reading it, I see how its misleading and not clear.
I tried to say, "No, maybe it does not work yet."
It seemed more funny at the time, and I was thinking of a few things. Never mind. Sorry.
EDIT: Changed from original.
OK, I see. I think that particular smiley is the one with the zipper on its mouth, though. So I think it's meant for contexts like "I'm speechless" or "Shh, don't say anything," etc. Hence my confusion.
I agree, the WordPerfect functionality might not be working yet. If it's a bug I hope Logos notices this thread, as it's in the General forum which they generally don't go looking in for bug reports.
Rev Jim, you might want to re-post this in the Logos 4 forum (or PC Beta forum if you're using the beta version) with "Bug: " prefixing the subject line, so that it will get noticed. We don't think it's supposed to work this way, so it's either unfinished or broken. And we don't know of a patch that would fix it.
Rosie: Thanks for your responses. I've also sent a note to one of the Tech Support people that I had been in contact with last week on the transfer, so will pass this on when she responds.
