Low memory after opening a layout

Opening a layout takes a lot of memory. No surprise in that, but closing the layout does not recover memory. Only closing Logos will. Is there a way to recover the memory without closing Logos down?

If your layout has many (>30) tabs, try closing 10 of them, especially resources that use many Visual Filters (from the Docs menu).

But how much memory is "a lot"? If memory usage jumps when opening a layout, it's unlikely you will recover all of it by closing it (it takes time, but you should recover some memory).
