Navigation Issue

Before, on Bibles, I could always do verse-by-verse scrolling (up and down) with my middle mouse button (first image). Suddenly, the scroll bar is gone, and now there are just two arrows down at the bottom of the window (second image). When I click them, it either jumps clear to the next verse after the very end of the page, or clear to the verse before the very top of the page. I can't find any setting to change this back to scrolling. It's so frustrating. How do you restore scrolling?

    Never-mind. I finally discovered that you have to select "none" for columns:
