Sounds interesting BUT for $150 to $300 for a copy - out of my price range unless Logos can get it published for $20.

I can't speak to this particular book. But the subject merits coverage in Logos. Especially, what really underlies the Catholic/Protestant divide.

The protestant doctrine of "by the Bible alone" (sola Scriptura) is both unbiblical (it's found nowhere in the Bible) and untraditional (it was rejected by the Fathers of the Church and never taught by any of the Apostles - in fact, in several places in his letters St. Paul asks his readers to follow the oral [unwritten] traditions that he has taught them). This book provides all of the evidence for tradition, from the Bible [both Old and New Testaments] to the Church Fathers down to the Middle Ages, as the necessary complement, along with a valid teaching authority (bishops in apostolic succession), to Sacred Scripture. From the beginning of Christianity, the rule of faith has been Bible + Tradition, both interpreted within a living Church led by legitimate spiritual authority (magisterium)... not the Bible alone, much less one's private interpretation of it. I'd assume, similar thinking underlies continuous-revelation traditions (LDS, etc).

well, sort of. Logos publishes Congar's "The Meaning of Tradition" for only $13.99. This is the summary of the larger "Tradition and Traditions" and according to Avery Dulles' preface "its is more orderly and concise and preferable as an introduction to the theme."
Still, it would be beneficial to have the larger book in Logos/Verbum.
