Hi All,
I'm not especially familiar with Logos, using it rarely and for very basic reading. However, I am very interested in this dictionary and so far as I can tell Logos may be one of the only ways to use it in computer form and the print edition is known to have robustness issues. So I have a couple of questions concerning how this module works in Logos. If it helps anyone commenting, I use Accordance all the time and am familiar with how it works. So if describing it that way helps get the point across feel free.
1. In what ways does the Logos module part company with the print edition ? I know page numbers are not included - or at least were not when it came out first. Anything else ? Does it include the front matter, back matter and so on ? I assume, but would like to confirm, that the list of abbreviations for terms and cited works are included.
2. How can one search it in Logos ? Bear in mind I would be typing in search terms in Greek and English rather than clicking through from a text for the most part. I would type either accented, unaccented, lemma and inflected forms.
Is one able to search by entry in Greek ? I assume so but ....
Can one search the English translations, glosses and so on ?
Can one search for the cited works by name or reference ?
Can one combine searches on these dimensions ? Are there any restrictions to such combinations ?
3. If there is a video of any of this feel free to point me at it. I suspect there may be a video somewhere of using BDAG or LSJ or something like that. And assuming the same features are available for this work that might be helpful.
4. I know Logos does subscription for some things. I assume as this is a single work that it is an outright purchase. Let me know if I'm wrong on that. Like I said I'm not very familiar with Logos overall.
Many thanx in advance
Daniel
