Smart Tags and M365 Business

Trying to get Smart Tags to work again in MS Word. I have Logos 8 and M365 Business.
I have done the steps in the Wiki (they previously worked).
I ran Powershell execution policy and the RegisterSmartTags download. Both say that it succeeded.
But in Word there is no option under Com add-ins (or anything else) to activate this tag.
Anyone been able to do this?
Thanks

If you are in File > Options > Add-ins you should see "Logos Bible Software (Bible references)" near the top, with Type = Action
In the Manage: box at the bottom, click the down arrow and select Actions and Go..
Check the boxes for Enable additional actions... and Logos Bible Software (Bible references) and then click OK.
Despite all this, I was also unable to get it working in M365. Faithlife may be able to assist.

I don't have Microsoft 365, so I haven't been able to test, but I do note that Microsoft has deprecated Smart Tags since Word 2010: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/microsoft.office.tools.word.smarttag?view=vsto-2017#usage
It's not outside the realm of possibility that they finally removed support.

I don't have Microsoft 365
Turns out I wasn't paying attention: I have an Office 365 subscription, which has now become Microsoft 365.
I discovered that the copy of WINWORD.exe on my system is 64-bit. I don't remember installing that explicitly; perhaps that was the new default when I first installed, or perhaps Microsoft has started upgrading existing installations to 64-bit?
If you're running 64-bit Word (like me), you'll need to use L4SmtTg64.dll. Once I installed and registered that, I was able to see the Smart Tag in Office (on the Additional Actions right-click menu).

I think that can be specified during initial installation, but my copy is 32-bit.
After another display of M365 banners and restarting Word, Smart Tags is now working!

Yes, MS changed to 64-bit but one can override it.

Dave Hooton … I have 64bit Office 365 . . . I have down loaded LSmTg4.dll . . . run Powershell . . . it says it accepted, registered, etc., but my MS Office 365 doesn't recognize. PowerShell said it loaded, but I can not find Logos in either add-in or proofing. Can you help? :)

@Dr. David Wolfe I can not find Logos in either add-in or proofing.
Logos Bible Software should be in Add-ins.
If necessary update to Logos v39 (the current version as of today)and then restart it. Check that the LSmtTg64.dll is still in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos\System, and register it in a (Windows) Command Prompt with regsvr32 “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Logos\System\LSmtTg64.dll”
It is working for me in 32 bit Word.

Here's what I have loaded via PowerShell
It doesn't work in 'my' 64 bit MS 365. So I assume something isn't registered, but somewhat confused. When I had win 32bit, smart tags worked great. But not so much in my copy of 365. Is there something wrong with the above command?

Trying to register the 32 bit Smart Tag for your 64 bit Office will not succeed. Why did you not register the 64 bit Smart Tag as I suggested?

Isn't this v39? Logos Bible Study 39.0 - 39.0.408

I guess I am just a little confused. I have v39. And I have gone into AppData\Local\System and LSmtTg4.dll is where I think it is suppose to be.

I'm confused because your screenshot with Powershell was registering the 32 bit Smart Tag!

Okay, understand "screenshot with Powershell was registering the 32 bit Smart Tag!" I am a ignorant novice here at this point. I do know how to get to the command prompt, but from there not so much. Can you tell me exactly what I do at the command prompt?

:) I now have Logos Smart Tags for 64Bit Office 365 sort of working!!!!! Thank you so much for the pointers. But I have one slit bitty problem . . . when I click on, say John 3:16, the drop down opens . . . but instead of coping/inserting the verse, it opens Logos to the Bible verse. It doesn't insert into Office 365. I have Logos Bible Software 5 (Bible References). How do I get it to insert the verse into Office?

I haven't used Smart Tags in years, as I switched to LibreOffice - if you Right-Click the 'tagged' Scripture Reference, does it not give the Replace with Passage option?

Right click should give you a menu with Additional Actions
Then select Replace with Passage

My dropdown says Logos Bible Software 5
You must have an old version of the smart tag; we dropped the version number from the label (in Office) ten years ago.
Is your L4SmrtTg.dll (or LSmtTg64.dll) version 6.0.0.0?
I have down loaded LSmTg4.dll
Where did you download it from? Even though it's unsupported, I think the Logos installer still installs it, so you shouldn't need to download it.
