I am wanting to join the beta. I have a Mac and am wondering if there is anything I need to do if I create a new user on my mac to make sure I don't share the resource folder between the two versions.
Thanks!

Creating a new user includes creation of user specific library so Resource folder is not normally shared (technically could be tweaked to be shared, but that is unwise and unsupported).
Alternative to creating a new user is using both Logos & Verbum at the same time by the same macOS user (default configuration is Logos & Verbum having separate Library Application Support folders). One application could be Stable release while the other is Beta.

Creating a new user and new Logos account (using the same credentials) is the best way. Sometimes the beta breaks something and you have to wait until Logos fixes it in another beta. The software usually works, but it might be a feature that you are relying on to complete that assignment that cannot wait.
Beware that help is only available on the forums for Beta testing, and you have to make a complete install under the new user. All of your resources including notes, clippings etc., will carry over. https://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_Multiple_Macs may be of assistance in saving some time.
I note the advice above.
A simpler solution is to install the Beta on you main work installation - that way you are testing it most regularly - and a second installation on another computer. I keep a Beta running on my iMac. I keep a mainstream installation on my MacBook.
There are a couple of times I have had to revert that installation for work. Once, admittedly some time ago, the Beta failed for me for over a week. Without the second installation I would have been struggling.
However you deal with the Beta installation don't rely on it for time critical jobs.

I do it that way without a second backup installation. In the rare cases when I encountered a show-stopping bug, I used Time Machine to return to the previous stable installation.
On the Logos 8 Alpha, I did need to perform a complete reinstall [:'(]
Not very wise perhaps, but I have not been dead-in-the water—yet [:P]
