The screen shot shows primarily highlighting notes with labels ... notes I would expect to be by selection by definition.
The problem is that in a standard pane, only the first portion of the anchor shows. If you click on it, you get your highest priority resource with a liturgical date index opening (for me, a lectionary) rather than selecting the note as expected.
