COM API: Request: New Command to STOP Downloads in progress please

User wish to be able to limit downloading to times of non-user (normally overnight), or when any capped Internet Traffic plans are favorable.

At present, I expect it will be easy to use the COM API to run variations of the command as follows:

Set automatically download updates to yes
Set automatically download updates to no
Update now
Update resource
Rebuild bible index
Rebuild index

Actually, (1) appears to trigger an auto "Update Now" anyway.

What we can't do, short of something nasty like killing the Logos4Indexer.exe task, is to stop any downloads just before 7 am or whatever.

Please can be have a new command supported by the command box (and hence COM API) to stop any downloads.

(What kind of mess will killing the indexer cause? It must already have some kind of clean shutdown mode for when someone needs to reboot or shut down.)

Related: Is there a way to easly tell that the download portion is completed, and only the index portion remains?

Can I just stop BITS?

That's really quite unpredictable--it depends exactly on which instruction it's executing when you kill it. It does have a "clean shutdown" mode that is exposed through right-click > Cancel download, but (as you've noticed) that command is not currently automatable.

I'm thinking of someone that has capped traffic, but "free and unmetered" between say, 2 am and 7 am. (This may be me very soon. My ISP has cancelled my current data plan.)

It would be nice if that was a setting directly in the product, or could be stopped externally from the COM API.

For now, the only way I know is to stop the BITS Service, but then Logos4Indexer.exe crashes with a COM exception. Not good, and unpredictable results.
