BUG: Logos4Indexer.exe crashes with COM error if BITS restarts during downloads

If I stop or restart BITS, the Logos4Indexer.exe crashes with a COM error, if its downloading Logos updates.

Questions:

Will this corrupt any running index rebuilds?
Is it possible for this to cause the downloads to stop, but not crash Logos4Indexer.exe, and allow index rebuilds to continue?
Is there a better way to ask for downloads to stop?
(Using scripting/programming/COM API etc ...)

Program Version: 4.0d RC 1 (4.04.4.1201)
Windows Version: 6.0.6002.131072

Error detail: COMException: Object server is stopping when OLE service contacts it (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80080008 (CO_E_SERVER_STOPPING))

Unexpected and strange:

If BITS is already running before Logos4 begins a download, BITS can be stopped and Logos4Indexer.exe crashes.

If BITS is stopped, and Logos4 auto-starts it, a WInddows user gets an error on attempting to stop BITS. Logos4 appears to be holding some kind of lockout or other interaction with Windows Process Control. This seems wrong and a bug?

Bradley commented in the other thread, that results would be unpredicable if Logos4Indexer.exe crashes. That seems fair [:)]

However, it would be better if the the indexer exits or somehow recoveres with something logged, rather than crashing on an exception.

Even better: Given that the indexer is running both downloads AND index builds, it would be nice if indexing continued without corruption even if downloading was unable to proceed.

BUMP.

Logos4indexer.exe should not crash if BITS stops/restats/fails.

If need be, it should not attempt to restart any download portions of its work, but continue to process or exit clean from any indexing in progress.

What I am reporting here is a specific COM Exception and crash of Logos4indexer.exe if the BITS service disconnects from Logos4Indexer.exe.

I reported it as, as in general for crashes, Melissa picks these up and logs them into their internal support systems.
