Import Logos 3 into Logos 4 on a new machine

I've got lots of highlighting, notes, prayer lists, etc. in Logos 3. And a new PC running Logos 4 (no L3 on the new machine). I installed the toolbar to prepare the notes, did a sync and I'm still not getting all my highlighting, etc. on the new machine. Do I need to have both 3 and 4 installed on the same machin, or can I copy the user content from the 3 install into a directory on the 4 machine? If so, where would I put it?

The L4 Import command has to be used (see Help) and requires an L3 installation folder on your machine. But you might be able to put your user documents into the (My) Documents folder and L4 will look there without worrying about L3 being installed - see http://www.logos.com/support/lbs/specialfolders for the location of the "MyDocuments" folder.

L4 is not designed for users to copy user content into its databases!

Thanks Dave, I'll give that a go. Since I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2, I'm assuming i'll need to use the Windows 7 pathing. I'll let everyone know how it turns out

The "Special Folders" locations for Win7 are the same as Vista.

OK, I went ahead and installed Logos 3, got data / UGC put in the default locations, installed Logos 4, installed the toolbar, got all my highlighting into Logos 4

Two questions:

1) Does that content synchronize with the cloud?

2.a) If yes, is there anything I need to do to make it work? It hasn't shown up in my work computer yet

2.b) If no, how do I transfer it from the temporary L4 install to my everyday work computer?

They should sync assuming you have the same Sign-in for both machines and the Use Internet option is set to YES. You can also try the command Sync Now in both machines.

If all your documents & preferences are on the temp installation AND both have the same version of L4 you can transfer the contents of the Documents folder. But see http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers for the correct way to do it (you must delete the existing documents)!

Everything finally showed (shewed) up -- I noticed the little sync icon was doing its thing (on both the Mac and Windows) so I just let them run. Now I've got everything in both places.

May have spoke too soon. Updated to Beta 1 and no highlighting on the Mac. I thought they were there before, but now I'm questioning that. Oh well, at least now they're in my 'work' computer.

Which reminds me... need to get ready for Sunday!

I have a similar problem, but my L3 computer is Win7 and my L4 computer is a mac. I haven't found anything that tells me where my "special folders" are in the mac. Can you help?
