Hebrew Letters Lists?

Hello!

I'm learning the Hebrew basics and need letter Lists, (not Word Lists), (Consonants, vowels, accents, etc.) Is it possible in Logos 8? The idea is to use that lists with the Logos Flashcards App.

BTW, can we create word lists from not biblical resources?

Shalom!Big Smile

One Logos tool for learning the Hebrew alphabet is the Hebrew Alphabet Tutor (found in the Tools menu). It can help with reading and writing the alphabet.

Another option is the Mobile Ed Interactive Hebrew Alphabet Course.

You can create word lists from non-biblical resources, or create a word list by hand with the letters you want to learn.

Once you master the alphabet, check out Learning Biblical Hebrew. It includes a great collection of supplemental material to help in your study of the language.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Would the Hebrew Alphabet Tutor resource in Logos be of any help?

To access the resource, click Tools and type Hebrew in the search box. If you own that resource it will appear in the list.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Unfortunately this tool is not available for smartphones.
There's another tool, Hebrew Cantilations which I guess should be useful to get the accented syllable. But it hasn't instructions in how you should use the tool.
    Anyway, thank you!

You definitely can build a Word List document with letters - and you need to, if you want to use it for Flashcards. I've build one for Greek Letters some time back. I have no clue whatsoever about Hebrew, but it should be easy to build it (as long as there are characters for it - I think vowels are "empty" consonant characters with some dots and such at the right place).

Thank you. It is very useful! I followed the instructions and got the word list. But for some reason, the pronunciation does not appear on Flash Cards, but it does on the list. Any idea why?

BHS & BHW both show the accented syllable. Of course you need to be able to distinguish between accents and vowel points. Also, if you are only concerned with the accent of the lexeme, Strong's shows the stressed syllable by way of bold print in the pronunciation guide. The Strong's pronunciation guide isn't always accurate in terms of pronunciation (the qaamaats is not pronounced as "aw"--it's "aah"), but it gets the stressed syllable correct. One of the beneficial features of Strong's that HALOT doesn't replicate and which ol' George couldn't allow himself to appreciate.

Of course, this pic is from L3...I'm assuming the more current versions retain this feature, but given the number of critical features in L3 that got scrubbed from all subsequent versions, I'll leave it for you to check out.

I'm looking for the audio pronunciations in the Flash Cards App. Something for dummies[:$]. It looks like you must already know ha-mikra, not to learn them. Thank you for your time!
