I've been using Solid State Drives with Logos for several years or better & there is absolutely no problem.
I suppose the only problem could be, is if someone doesn't like speed, that is, Logos functioning a lot faster! But seriously, you'll like it a lot better than the old hard drives.

My iMac only has an SSD, and Logos runs very well on it.

An SSD is the only kind of drive you should use with Logos.

Get SSDs that got on the market from 2018 onwards and check for specifications with higher endurance. Ask your computer savvy friends for recommendations.

I've been using SSD since about 2015. I can't even imagine what using it with a HDD would be like anymore

Logos works really well with an SSD. Wouldn't run it any other way.
Just make sure you use a large enough SSD that you will always have *plenty* of free space.

Some serious issues in my experience. Logos gets real fast.

Best investment I ever made. Took my laptop and especially Logos to a whole new level. I would never go back. They are so cheap now. My son-in-law got me a 1TB SSD and I have TONS of room for my whole library and super fast response. Seel your firstborn and do it.

I couldn't have said it better. You really must have a SSD to make Logos work well.

Maybe a larger SSD would fit where your current drive is.. There is cloning software to make the new drive look like the old one just BIGGER.

Clonezilla is an open source clone option (successfully used for Windows many times). Apple has a Migration Assistant (can use during macOS installation to clone from one storage device to another). Also macOS has the option to boot up from external storage.
Logos wiki => Install in different folder or drive has warning against using an external drive for Logos and/or Verbum.
When 250GB SSD inside an older iMac did not have enough storage space, relocated my purchased library Resources to an external SSD using USB, which sometimes disconnected from macOS that caused Logos 8 to crash = warning confirmed.
