My immediate problem is an "Unknown Error Occurred Opening Resource" error when I try to open a new version of the NET Bible resource. But because I suspect a broader issue, I will begin with some context.
A significant part of my Logos usage is on an admittedly old Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition: splitting the screen is convenient for having the Scripture (in Logos) right next to sermon notes that I am taking (in Evernote). This has worked well for years, and since the tablet still works well, I have not wanted to pay to replace it. But I learned today that, because the tablet has Android 5.1, I can no longer update the Logos app. Though that is a little frustrating, I recognizing that developers have challenges given Google's relentless pace of Android changes.
Earlier this week, I tried to use the NET Bible, which I frequently consult for its useful notes. I noticed that a new version of the resource had just downloaded automatically. When I tried to switch from ESV to the NET Bible, I got the error "Unknown Error Occurred Opening Resource." I have tried restarting Logos, restarting the tablet, and downloading a new copy of the resource (in case it was corrupted). I am still getting the same error.
An older post here suggests that this error indicates an incompatibility between the resource and the engine in the app. Thus, I infer that I am getting the error because the new NET Bible resource requires a new version of the Logos app, which I cannot get. If that is not so--if there is a way to solve the problem with using the NET Bible--I would like to know.
But if I am correct, I want to make sure that no other resources are downloaded to my tablet automatically. I do not want this problem to repeat with other resources that are working on my tablet today. I have looked for an option to stop automatic download of resources. I have seen a forum post saying that such an option was being added to the Android app, but I cannot find it. Can anyone point me to where I can set that?
