Bug: Trashed Notes doesn't show the actual note
I see the resource name, note indicator/color, and date of deletion, but no actual text of the note.
How can I tell which note to undelete, when I can't see the text?

Question about terminology.
Almost exclusively being a desktop user, I'm accustomed to thinking of the (unofficially named) "kebab" menu as the panel menu. I noticed that after you select a note, the toolbar also has a menu. Is there a proper name to refer to the menu on the toolbar?
Incidental comments:
- I thought it was a bit confusing to have the same "kebab" icon showing up at the top and at the bottom of the screen.
- It's not immediately obvious how to select a trashed note. I first tried tapping, then tried a long press, then resorted to the menu, where I found Select.

Is this a bug, or working as intended, that you can see the text of deleted notes, but not see the text of deleted highlights?

We currently don't show the highlight preview text when the resource isn't downloaded to the device. This is a performance optimization to prevent a bunch of network traffic. If you were to download the BT:TC resource in the screenshot, I believe you should see the highlight previews.

Todd, thank you for the response. I read it yesterday, and thought about it overnight.
It seems really unfortunate to inconvenience the user, just to save some network traffic.
Considering HOAGIE's Awesomeness -- Provoke delighted exclamations: make the customer giggle -- might this be an area that could be rethought?

How would a customer know they need to download the resource in order to view deleted highlights?
As a very last resort (because I don't consider it a solution for the issue), perhaps the app could display a static "Download resource to see highlight" in place of the actual preview? It adds a second inconvenience, but at least the customer won't be left in the dark as to why there is no highlight preview.
Thanks again for your response, Todd, and thanks for taking the time to consider whether this should be rethought or not.

Thanks for the gracious feedback. Yes, this is something we would like to improve, I agree it is not an obvious behavior.
