Preferred Bible on the homepage ribbon opens up to passage guide
Is there a way to click on my preferred Bible on the homepage without it opening up the passage guide each time?

OK, how do I do the same thing for my bible reading plan, so that only the bible opens, in a full-screen layout, without the passage guide, etc., and it opens to the current reading?
Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river.

I don't understand your question. If I click on the link for today's reading, the only thing that opens is the Bible. The Passage Guide does not open. When I click on the link for today's reading, I get three windows...the passage guide, the bible, and the explorer window.
