Goto Specific date in lectionary from Go Box / Command box

In previous of Verbum (and as seen in the Advanced Homiletic training videos), you could type "Monday" in the Go box, and one of the options was for it to list the next "monday" in the Catholic Daily Readings. You no longer can do this. Please add this feature back if possible.

Verbum 8.15 command includes lectionary choice: open catholic to mon (preview pop-up appears when mouse hovers over command choice)

Command can specify day: open Catholic Daily Reading to Aug 3, 2020

Okay... that's a lot more complicated than what was shown in the videos. Why was it changed from simply "Monday" to "Open Catholic to mon"?

Actually, the command that KS4J shows has a somewhat different function. The GO box command which was disabled opened a predefined layout. The Command box command that he shows is for opening a specific resource; how much of the resource name you must enter depends upon the contents of your library.

I do not know whether the function deletion was intentional or oversight; they may have assumed users would use the dashboard card.

Verbum 8.4 (& Logos 8.4) added Calendar icon to Lectionary Home Page Card so typing "Monday" in the Go box (prior to Verbum 8.0) became two clicks on Home Page Dashboard: 1) Click Calendar on Lectionary card, 2) Click desired date: e.g. next Monday is 10 August

Dashboard has settings for adding Lectionary (default date is today so click on card opens Lectionary resource to today's reading)

Video was created using a release prior to Logos 8.0 & Verbum 8.0 that has a new => Home Page

The Lectionary entry in the left-side ribbon had more functionality than the current dashboard card. I believe there are several requests for the return of the level of functionality present in the ribbon to be present in the dashboard card.

Agree... this seems like more work and less functionality with the new version. I work in IT and you never ad more clicks to anything and call it newer and better.

Also, if Verbum is going to charge for the Advanced Homiletic Training like they do, they need to update it when they upgrade. Selling it and having it reference an OLD version of Verbum is very frustrating as they don't tell you the proper way of doing things. I hate to see how outdated the other training is.

Two minor issues:

1. Revised courses typically aren’t a free upgrade to an existing course. They tend to be a new course at a discounted price to previous owners.

2. Updates to the program occur more frequently than a course can be updated. For example, there were improvements from 8.0 through 8.6 that changed the appearance of Notes, the context menu, and the Home page.

Having said that, I hope the course does get updated.
