Temporary resources that should be permanent

Hey guys, my library is showing up with 26 temporary licences which should be permanent. I have purchased my package through my seminary, and paid it in full. Originally, all the resources were temporary, as the Logos cost is usually paid incrementally. I opted to pay in full, and so once my seminary advised Logos that I paid in full, the vast majority of my resources became a permanent licence type, except for those 26.

Is there a particular issue that I need to address on my end or should I just submit a report? I have seen a few posts with similar content from 2015-2019, but never one with a resolution beyond a Logos employee commenting that they're working on resolving the issue.

Are you 100% sure that these 26 resources are contained in your package?

I own many packages but additionally I also have some temporary licenses.

Some come from a 'basic package'. Like this one: https://www.logos.com/product/168880/logos-8-basic. Pay attention: it will show up as if you do not own it, even if you got it.

Some come with a faithlife connect subscription. And some have in my library for ages, not even sure why.

So, best check where the resources come from. For example by looking them up on logos.com and seeing in what packages they occur.

Have you tried restarting Logos? There have been times where I have a temporary resource and purchase it and it wouldn't switch to permanent until after I closed it completely (On a PC you can use File/Exit or the Red X // OR // On a Mac, make sure you close the program using the file bar as otherwise it stays open).

This is spot on! All the 26 resources are from Logos 8 Basics, which came listed as part of my seminary's custom package. Why are they listed as temporary?

Before I go plugging this everywhere, I do not wish to mislead. Does this sentence mean that a feature or resource may randomly disappear in a month, or without warning?

"*The features, datasets, and books provided in Logos 7 Basic are “access-only”, which means you have access to them, but do not own them permanently."

I'm also interested in hearing a definitive answer from Faithlife staff about this before I can recommend it.

Ben and Allen, I'm sorry for the delay in replying to this question. Logos Basic has far exceeded our wildest expectations so far. We weren't planning to officially launch it until Monday, but it's already gone viral on its own—globally—via social media. So we had to accelerate some our of plans for Monday.

Here's the way we're thinking about access vs. ownership:

We're modeling this after the approach we've taken with our mobile apps. Users who download the Logos Bible app get access to some free resources, but they don't own them. This allows us to change the contents quite easily: add a new resource, swap one for another, or in rare cases remove when when a rightsholder no longer wants their resource included.
We don't plan to make many changes to the contents of the product. A user can count on having a good solid core of Bible study tools and content, even if there is some slight variation occasionally.
When we do make changes, it's more likely that we'll swap or add something than remove it.
When we're swapping or removing a title, we'll try to get sufficient advanced notice—and we'll probably provide the opportunity to purchase it at a discount to keep it permanently.
We'll probably experiment with adding a free interactive, dataset, feature, or book free for a week every once in a while to allow people to try out some of the things not included in Basic. For example, we may grant free access to the Psalms Explorer interactive resource for one week. Having the collection be access-only makes that really easy for us to execute.
Several of the items included in Logos Basic are available separately for free on Logos.com. A user could buy them to convert their temporary licenses into permanent ones. That's probably a good idea for everyone to do.
