Did Logos rename some of the Commentaries when they appear in the Passage Guide?

    Can you give some examples?

We recently completed a case to standardize commentary resource names to follow the same naming convention. We were very inconsistent between these variations:

    • Series Title: Volume Title
    • Volume Title: Series Title
    • Volume Title (Series Abbrev.)
    • Volume Title

We've standardized on the last of these, since the series is already listed next to the volume title in both the Details and Tile views in the Library and is available in the Filters sidebar, too.

There's an update coming to the Commentaries guide section in the near future that will include the series name. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience as we try to standardize our naming system across the library.

This would be a huge help for the mobile platform. I’ve spent a TON of time renaming each commentary with publication date, series, book, and author and it helps heaps in my studies. The mobile titles don’t sync, as you know, and I still get stuck with five commentaries all titled “Romans”.

Will This update override any customized titles we have made in our libraries?

Thanks for making this change, it will be much appreciated If it can make identifying commentaries easier on mobile.

Does this change alter what will be produced by Logos/Verbum's various citation/bibliography features for these commentaries?

I also share the optimism for mobile improving in this area, but also the concern that customized titles might be reset/changed. I and others I know have spent a considerable amount of time renaming resources and would be very sad to see that effort affected.

    Thanks,

Your customized title will always take precedence over the title provided by Faithlife. Any changes that are made to Faithlife's data will not modified what you have specified.
