Searching all but footnotes?

Hi,
I was looking for something in my systematic theology collection but I got a lot of "footnote" type hits.
Is there a way to search "but not footnotes" in the basic search dialogue?

Use surface:{search term} (without the braces). An example would be surface:justification. This will exclude the footnotes.

Phil,
thank you very much...I scoured the help file for that and couldn't find it...
PS: is there a way to search my whole library but exclude bible text?
Example:
surface:Jesus, not: bible text
that way I could find the reference in my whole library without digging through 400 bible references...

Robert,
You're welcome. I did a series on field searching on our blog a while back. You may find these posts helpful:

Yes, you can exclude Jesus (or any other word) when it appears in the actual Bible text in Bibles (it won't be excluded when it occurs in book introductions, etc. in Bibles). Use this search: surface:jesus NOTEQUALS bible:jesus.
