Can anyone comment on the Standard Lesson Commentary?
With the daily deal disount and dynamic pricing, my price is only $3.92.

I used it as the basis for a weekly Bible Study for a number of years.
It follows a defined text order to cover the whole Bible in a set number of years.
Found it really useful, did not always agree with some of the content but not in a major doctrinal way just emphasis and occasionally the main theme they pulled from a specific text was not always obvious to me at least.
Plenty of content and when I got it they also provided PowerPoint files as well so easy to prepare with.
Easy to use and very helpful to preparing Bible Studies or a Sunday School lesson.
It is one of the better resources for those using the ISSL lessons.
Wow a lot of them seem to be on sale for $7 and change! They’re usually $19.99.

These are from the restoration movement tradition I think, right?
Yes, they are 👍😁👌

Okay, reason enough to try completing my collection ... but careful auditing of this list shows not only some new duplicates, but also that the year 2009/2010 is missing, which makes the statement about complete history not fully true:
Thanks for the feedback. So I decided to go for it.
The commentary downloaded as two resources, one with NIV base text and one with KJV base text.
The PDF documents for use in class are embedded in the resources. Until now, I wasn't even aware that this is a feature of Logos resources. It could be a tremendously helpful feature for all kind of other resources too - basically every resource that includes (or should include) some kind of handout.
This is not a bad deal for $3.92.
I went ahead and got the 8 that were on sale plus 2 I already had. The newest volumes are not on sale, so I’ll wait for those. Great deal! 👍😁👌
Apologies for resurrecting (!) an old thread but I'm wondering if there is a complete list of lesson themes over the years. The David C. Cook website only lists back to 2020 and Logos doesn't provide that information.
advTHANKSance, Tom

They go back to1872. There was a researcher who made a complete list maybe 20 years or so ago but I never saw it available publicly.

The closest you might come to this is the Standard Reference Library of the Old and New Testaments (5 vols.) | Logos Bible Software .
The store page describes the work as follows:
“In these comprehensive volumes, Douglas Redford compiles the most insightful, most helpful portions of commentary on certain key passages that have been covered on different occasions throughout the history of the Standard Lesson Commentary. The format for each chapter has been kept purposefully simple. Under the title of each chapter is a list of the passages to be examined within that chapter. Each passage is then studied under two main headings: “Establishing the Groundwork” and “Examining the Text.” The “Groundwork” section aims to place a passage in its proper context, providing background information about the significant people, places, and events. For example, in the volume dealing with Christ’s life, the “Groundwork” portion explains where in Jesus’ life and ministry the passage occurred, and it also seeks to provide a smooth transition between passages so that the flow of thought is maintained. The “Examining the Text” portion presents a verse-by-verse explanation of the Biblical text being considered. In some cases, two or more verses will be grouped together (for example, verses that describe something that took place within one of Jesus’ parables).”
While not particularly deep or comprehensive, I have found them helpful at times in preparing Sunday School lessons.
Thanks M.J. and Sam. I have that collection in a library I bought. I am mostly interested in the yearly volumes that Logos carries as those are the ones I might buy. I'm more interested in topics than just buying a yearly package and then being committed to teaching whatever it might include.
