Logos 4.0d Crash

As others have reported, this Logos 4 installation now will not start up (since Logos 4.0d and maybe also some Logos v.3 updates I had to do to install some purchased items).
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ".Net Framework 3.5", and also tried clicking on the logos4.msi to "reinstall" (that complained that it couldn't reinstall since it wasn't installed). I'm thinking I have to completely erase and reinstall logos4 (hopefully without downloading any of the 32.7G now under .../logos4..).
Thoughts?

The log shows that .NET is involved, so did this crash occur after reinstalling .Net Framework 3.5 and trying to reinstall L4? What other steps had you taken prior to the crash?

This XP installation is only used infrequently. What I had done recently was to install a Logos 3 package (from Concordia) in order to "unlock" it. (It involved two old-fashioned Logos 3 "keys", only one of which was accepted by my normal notebook/windows 7 installation.)
The XP package in question proceeded to upgrade itself to 4.0d as well, and went through the full (maybe 16-hour?) index over a weekend. I'm not sure whether it was crashing before that, but certainly after. However, the indexer still runs while the program crashes, so it has downloaded several updates (including a large 2+GB one), apparently successfully.
I had maybe 5 versions of .Net Framework installed (from 1 to 4). Per a post from Melissa on another thread, I tried a "remover" to uninstall all the versions, then reinstalled the 3.5 version. It crashed pretty much the same both before and after this.
Another post I can't find now (I think also by Melissa) suggested right-clicking on logos4.msi and selecting "repair". When I tried that, it told be logos4 was not installed (maybe because it was upgraded, since the .msi file is dated November 2009?).
Is there a way to do a reinstall of just the program without reloading all of the resources?

Yes.
- Save the Resources folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\i0l3hqjk.yxy\ResourceManager\
- Uninstall L4 from Control Panel
- Delete the Logos4 folder in the above path (use Control Panel | Folder Options to view hidden folders)
- Start Diagnostic Logging
- Install using Method 3 at http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers
Compress (zip) and upload all the logs in \Logos Log Files if there are problems.

Thanks Dave for all the in-depth technical responses to these various questions on the forum.
Inasmuch as I did not really trust my XP installation that much anyway (and was largely only running Logos there), I blew it away and installed Windows 7. Then I reinstalled Logos4 (using actually method "2", which took me less than an hour for 32+GB of stuff, including valid 6+GB index file), and all seems kosher (fair dinkum).
I got 1843 hits on supralapsarian in 1.09 seconds (for fun), and all resources look OK.
I think Windows 7 is better than XP -- faster, and can use more memory. It certainly runs better under Parallels on a Mac (which is where this is running by the way).
Anyway, all is well, better than before with less work than it might have been.
