View Hover in Context?

Is there a way to view a hyperlinked Scripture reference in its context? If I have Genesis 1:2 in TSK and I hover over it, the popup displays vs2. Is there a key combination I can use and then hover over it again where the popup displays the entire chapter that particular reference is in?

I would like to be able to do this quickly without having to click on it and open another window or have it load in my existing bible window (and move the TSK away from the current verse).

not sure about making the preview pane different, but you could open a second copy of your Bible and then from the panel menu (top right) select "send hyperlinks here".
that would allow you to click the links without interrupting any of your linked books.

Yeah, I've played around with that feature and it works pretty well (separate window). But I'm on a laptop exclusively and I don't really have the screen real estate for a second bible window. I was hoping their was a way to see the context as a popup during hover. It's not the end of the world, it just came up while I was studying and thought I would ask.

Even if it could open a floating window would be okay, or even always opening to a new tab would be alright. I played around with it and it does open to a new tab when my default is not open (since my default is a collection of three bible modules), but when the reference is a NT or OT reference and that particular module is open it always goes to that opened module and subsequently throws everything else off.

Like I said, not a crucial feature, but seeing the context in a popup it's something I definitely could use if it were available. It could be as simply as: hover = exact reference and hover+SHFT = reference in its chapter context.

It's more crucial than you're saying (or you're being nice).

Logos, if presented with a lengthy non-Biblical quote, will do a popup, showing the whole quote (often including a slider in the popup). But for Bible references, any lengthy quote gets cut off, demanding popping into another pane, and often screwing up any linked panes.

Your idea could feed two birds.

I also would like a similar feature.

The Olive Tree App gives you a scroll bar feature within the popup to accomplish this. It even allows you to open another link from inside the popup that stays in the popup or preview and lets you return to the original one without having to open an additional window or panel. It's a great feature for space and time savings in research!

I have suggested this feature before in the logos forums and in uservoice, without success, most recently in the early posts of the Logos 9 wishlist thread. That would be a good place to post your suggestion as well. Can't hurt to bring it into the light once again.

Not sure, now that I started looking ... have to find a really long note! For sure in the Logos mobile (see below). Libby was not too pleased with your hint ... her footnote popups are huge, complete with multi-column formatting ... no dainty scrollbars required!

Before switching to a commercial program I used theWord Bible software for years. It, too, has a slider in the popups. It not only allows you to view the complete entry but it also allows you to copy the contents of the popup. What it does not do, though, is provide context. If I'm hovering over one verse there is no way to see the surrounding verses in the popup, which I think would be a very useful feature. Here's a view of a popup in theWord that presents the bible verse in various translations. It has a slider....

That's what is nice about the OT app, you can scroll up or down past the popup reference. I never tested how far in either direction you can go, but I have scrolled several paragraphs in each direction past it.

Sorry but I haven't figured out how to do screen shots or I would show it to you. Yours looks very similar though.
