I recently purchased the silver package. I am feeling very overwhelmed and have no idea where to start in attempting to utilize all of the features. I realize there are some videos to help, but I honestly don't even know where to start. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James - congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forums

Totally understand the features can be a bit overwhelming to begin with.

It's worth focusing on a few things - relevant to what you are trying to do - and going from there

You might find training materials at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/sections/360001734831-New-to-Logos-Start-Here helpful

Is there anything particular you are struggling to do at the moment?

James, welcome to the Forums and to Logos Bible Software.

First, let me assure you that you will be able to do a lot of Bible Study in Logos without even knowing about all the features. Faithlife has tried to make it easy to get started.

For example, you can type a passage or a topic in the Go bar and Logos will select resources and create a layout that will help you get started studying either one. There are other pre-planned layouts you can explore under the layouts menu.

Second, Logos has build some Guides. You can see them in the Guides Menu. For studying a verse or passage, open a Passage Guide and enter the passage or verse you want to study then hit Enter. Other Guides you'll find helpful are the Topic Guide and the Basic Bible Study Guide.

As you read your Bible, the right click menu gives you access to resources and tools either on the selection you've highlighted, or the verse you are working in. You can select to search a word in the original language, or find a dictionary article on it. You can launch a Passage Guide or the Word Study Guide from there. There is a lot more that can be invoked from the right click menu. Selecting a word will also bring up a pop-up that lets you highlight that word or launch a study of the word, plus other things.

Please try out some of these options. Then as you see what you can do with these you can explore more features.

In addition to the online video tutorials, in your Library you should find Quick Start for Logos 8. Go through that. You also have a resource called Study Like a Pro. Take a look at that.

I should have mentioned the two free Mobile Ed courses that help you learn how to use Logos. They are LT270 (a shorter version) and LT271 (longer version). (These videos are based on an earlier version of Logos. That means some of the menus and the appearance of Logos will not be what you are looking at. Don't let that hinder you from learning from them.)

Another free resource you can learn from is Logos Tutorials: Inductive Bible Study with Logos.

but I honestly don't even know where to start.

The wiki page Table of Contents will guide you through the tools/functions behind the Logos user interface  e.g.those in Documents (Docs), Guides, Tools, Layouts, Resource toolbars,  and link you with documentation in the wiki and/or Faithlife Support pages.

The wiki Home page also provides support e.g Getting Started, Search Help.

One other thing I'd suggest is definitely watch while you do - so when the person says "we're going to go do this, this and this....", make sure you have logos open, pause the video, and you yourself go do that, that and that! [:D]
