NASB 2020

Wow, that's means sometime next year.
If it took Lockman Foundation 25 years to produce this update, I believe it is reasonable to give Faithlife a couple of months to tag the Reverse Interlinear.
Where have FL said there will be an RI? It’s not included in the price of the Bible text for 6.99. I hope there is one and I hope I have missed where they said they are producing one or is it being assumed there will be one when the text is released?

Most websites already have the NAS30 online. There is no reason to be waiting this long. It has been 6 months "in production". All I want to know is if anybody has an idea as to WHEN will be released?
Thanks,

Thank you. So if only on feedback site no likely to be available when the text is released but happy to be wrong about that.

Is there any update on when the NASB 2020 will be available?
Why is it taking so long?

It is my opinion that the NAS20 has been given low priority. I don't care anyway. I have read so many negative things about this update that I will cancel my order the moment Logos releases it. Try waiting for the LSB (Legacy Standard Bible) that will be finished in the fall. As for Logos, who knows when they will release it after that.

Why not cancel it now, then?

I don't know all the details, but I heard that late April is our current estimate if all goes well.
I'm sorry it's taken so long.

Thanks Phil,
Hopefully, Faithlife can achieve, or even better, beat that timeframe.
Do you have any idea why it's taken so long?
Cheers

I don't have specifics, but if I had to guess I'd say Logos 9, Wordsearch, and Same-Day Release titles were prioritized higher and pushed it out a bit.
I've asked the team to start prioritizing new Bibles and treat them as Same-Day Releases as often as possible.

I have read so many negative things about this update
I read about some of the included alterations, and I am probably 30/70 in the "not happy" column. There may be some helpful updates (I sent them about half-a-dozen or more typos plus some needed [my opinion] translation improvements), but making the "most literal English version" into a "more reader friendly version" is probably going to lose Lockman the only solid readership they had. Granted, most people prefer easy over legit, but becoming "one of the crowd", especially in a Bible market saturated with "easy-reading" Bibles, seems like a successful suicide mission. I was looking forward to my fave Bible getting better--now, I'm probably not going to pick it up until it's been rolled into base packages after the new car smell has worn off.

There is no way to cancel it now.

You should be able to go to the Open Pre-pubs page on your account and delete it. That is the same as canceling. Can you not do this?

I didn't know that. Thank you.

Have you thought about the LSB (Legacy Standard Bible) which is nothing but a glorified NAS95?

In your estimation, how long will it take to release the NAS20?

At the top of this page, Phil ballparked it to the end of this month...but that's a guesstimate, not a promise. FL is usually tight-lipped about product releases because any ballpark projection offered is almost invariably contorted into a ironclad promise, which results in impatient customers engaging in flaming histrionics if the tentative date isn't promptly met. Comfort yourself and think of Doris Day.

Wow, Doris Day! You're dating yourself now, aren't you?

A bit, though it's not as bad as it may seem. Hitchcock films are classics.
Speaking of classics...the NASB95 ===> Classic.
The NASB20? Sadly, I'm not very encouraged.

I actually do go back to the Doris Day era. Saw many of her films, though I don't believe I ever saw her in a Hitchcock film. She even had her own TV show back in the day. It was simply called "The Doris Day Show." I used to watch that as a kid. Hitchcock was definitely a great director. I probably don't need to ask this, but I assume you saw "North By Northwest"? One of my all-time favorite films.

David is referring to The Man Who Knew Too Much which featured Doris Day singing Que Sera Sera. A lot.

Phil,
We are now well into June and still no sign of NASB2020. In the interim we have seen a lot of other products released, some much less significant than an important new Bible translation.
Do you have any update on how long we must wait and why the long delay?
Thanks,
Ken.
