Logos 9 Speed Claims
Are there any claims of a significant speed increase between Logos 8 and 9?
I'm not talking about complicated searches, I don't care about that. I'm talking about speed increases on the most basic user interface level: scrolling, hovering, right clicking...

Yes. I have seen several comments from users who were excited about the improved performance on desktop and mobile. Some were in the forums, while others were on the various Logos Facebook groups.

To me it absolutely seems faster but I don't have any data to back it up.

Same, but the time the desktop was a blank screen was only a fraction of the time it was with 8. Some library hiccups but I think that will resolve itself on my next launch

My experience is that it isn't slower. Not really sure beyond that.

I haven't noticed much difference, or heard any claims either way.
My laptop is a 4th gen i5 (not the fastest laptop), and its still reasonably fast. Maybe a hair faster than 8.
My desktop is blazing fast, and if there is a difference there, its miniscule - smaller than one could detect.
I have L8 running beside Verbum 9 on that one. I might be able to look at the logs... but if its different its small fractions of a second.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

My system is getting dated and I "feel" a noticeable difference, but like others have said, no real data to support

Very nominal. I noticed that it also uses more power according to task manager.

This is the only question I'm interested in with Logos 9. Especially with more resources, is it noticeably different? Any of the heavier users want to comment (e.g. with 10k books or more?)

30k+ here. Got 10th gen i7, 16gb, gtx 2060, 2tb nvme.
Didn't see anything noticeable speed improvement. Plus as far as I've tested, Logos still haven't fully utilize the power differences between i7 from 9th gen, 10th gen or 11th gen. Or even the different tiers of nvme's. (nothing else is running in background)
Doing bible study work layout with 20-30 variety resources in between L8 vs L9 ... I didn't see any speed improvements.
Maybe maxed 5% improvement. Even this could be physiological. lol
Personally tho ... I don't think L9 is much of improvement in features also. Kinda disappointed that it took them 2 years to develop these so called "new features". Nothing groundbreaking. L7 to L8 had better improvements.

To me, it feels oriented more towards pastors - preaching tools, better access to information "at your finger tips" (factbook), and guides for one of the areas pastors aren't prepared very well - counseling.mike said:Personally tho ... So for me, and for my usage patterns (even as a seminary student, I'm putting my papers into sermon manager, along side my sermons), its a home run.

I'm on a 16" MacBook Pro driving three screens, 10k resources (I think.) I've noticed improvements in scrolling speed and smoothness. Subjective, yes, but noticeable.

I have to add. There might be speed optimization increase on L9.
I did "rebuild index" the other day after I installed L9 new resources, and I do noticed that the time it took to rebuild indexing was a little bit faster than when I did L8.
It was heavy & long computing I'd say. But I have to try more maybe on daily activities.
