Logos 9 download blocked by MS Edge

When I tried to download Logos 9, Edge blocked the download with a warning that the software posed a danger to my computer (or words to that effect).

    That is perfectly normal. It will probably try to block the install as well.

    Didn't seem normal to me. It hasn't happened with other software I've installed.

    As it was I didn't need the download, Logos updated to 9 itself.

    I was concerned the first few times I saw it ... I think it has more to do with the size of Faithlife. I never see it on major software just niche software.

    I was able to download it using Chrome, but when I went to install it, Windows Defender tried to block it. I had to tell it to install it anyway.

    I think there is something missing from the download that FL needs to take care of.

    I think this is a combination of switching to a new code-signing certificate (a few months ago) and releasing a new EXE that (in Microsoft's defense) is not commonly downloaded or run.

    AFAIK, there's nothing we can do other than wait for more users to click "More Info" and "Run anyway" or "Report as safe" (or whatever options are provided). I'm not aware of a place we can upload it with an "I attest that this is completely legit and totally not malware, believe me" checkbox to speed up the process.

    The MS page that Edge to me to had an option for me to say I trusted the source. There was also an option for the software developer to validate the software and request their software be accepted/approved. I forget the exact terminology.

    Hopefully, FL had done that and it's just taking MS time to update is systems..

    I see that now! (Is that new in a recent build of Edge? It's not something I remember seeing before.) I've filled it out on behalf of Faithlife.
